Photographer Registration
When a photographer registers with wpsurf they will be able to perform all the actions that a surfer can on the site as well as:
When a photographer registers, they will see the following screen and must complete all the required fields indicated by *. Photographer registration gives automatic surfer functionality but certain steps must be taken before the photographer account is approved. A confirmation email is sent out to the email address supplied during registration.
All images will have copyright information displayed below them consisting of the photographers "Short Name" and WPSurf.com. 
Image Detail
Clicking on an actual image thumbnail allows you to see a small "watermarked" version of the image with additional image information.
This includes the:
- Dimensions (pixels)
- Resolution (dpi - dots or pixels per inch)
- Size (in kb) of the image file that may be downloaded if purchased.
All images will have copyright information displayed below them consisting of the photographers "short name" and WPSurf.com.
This will also be present on the full size image when purchased and downloaded, but there will be no watermarking across the full size image.
There are also a number of icons which will carry out actions on the current image:
Add to Cart My Cart
- Adds image to cart ready for purchasing.
Add to My Images (Favourites) My Images
- Keeps a record of images for the next time you
login to wpsurf.com. You must be registered to use this feature.
Email a friend Email a Friend
- Email a link to this image to someone else.
They will be able to jump straight to the image from the email.
View map MAPS
- View the map on which the break is located.
If a number of images have been found in a search, you can scroll through all the images using the forward and back controls below these icons.
To help you identify yourself surfing, there is a 'Zoom Image' feature. The quality of this zoomed image is lower than the image you can purchase and download. Use the scroll bars to move around the image.
Email address and Password
As a photographer will receive funds from photo sales using Paypal, this email address MUST correspond with the photographer's Paypal email address.
This email address is used by the photographer to login and the confirmation email provides the password they must supply to login. This may be changed at any time in the future by logging in and selecting the Change Password option from My Profile.
Locked Profile Information
Certain profile information cannot be changed after registration by a photographer (indicated by the lock symbol 
), so ensure this is correct before confirming the registration details.
VAT (Photographer)
A photographer must supply their Country of residence and VAT Number if they are VAT registered as this may have an impact on the commission charged by wpsurf for the service provided. These details will be locked after a photographer account is approved, but it is the photographers responsibility to inform wpsurf if these details change in the future.
A photographer may select which type of surfing they are interested in by selecting any combination of the options under I'm Interested In. These selections will be carried through to the more complex search when the user logs on to wpsurf in future.
Affiliate
A photographer may choose to associate with one local wpsurf affiliate either during registration or at any later date. This association can be made or broken at any time by either of the two parties.
A photographer must have an affiliate's agreement before associating.
Affiliates will be local surf shops or board manufacturers already established in the local surfing industry. These associations or links may bring benefits to both parties: Affiliates will be paid commission (5%) on all sales of a associated photographer's work, taken from the wpsurf commission, not in addition to it. A photographer develops local associations and their name and images will appear on the affiliates local surf photos website which will be provided by wpsurf. A photographer's name and images will always appear on the wpsurf.com site and they are under no obligation to associate with any affiliate.
To associate with an affiliate:
- Go to 'My Profile'
- Enter the name (or partial name) of an affiliate and click on the "Find" magnifying glass (
) to bring back a list of all affiliates on the system with the letters entered in their name. - Choose the Affiliate from the list and click the 'Update' button.
- You are now associated to that Affiliate.
To break your association with an affiliate:
- Go to 'My Profile'
- Delete the name of the affiliate
- Click the 'Update' button.
You are no longer associated to that Affiliate.
Profile
A photographer may enter a brief description about themself which surfers may view.
The photographer must confirm that the have read and agree to the terms and conditions of the site before registering.
After clicking Submit the photographer has an opportunity to review the information they have entered.
Confirm Details
The photographer has an opportunity to review and confirm the information they have entered.
The photographer may also upload an image of themselves for display in their profile before confirming their registration.
Display in My Profile
The photographer may also select which pieces of data should be visible to surfers by selecting Display in my profile.
In addition to the photographers name, image and home break - the selected pieces of data will show up when anyone views a Photographers profile.
Completing the Photographer Registration (required information)
The last stage of the photographer registration requires that the following two steps be completed:
1. the photographer must print off and sign a registration form which should be posted to wpsurf.
2. the photographer must upload some sample photos (.jpg format) which they have taken.
Wpsurf will not activate a photographer account without having all of this information on a potential photographer.

Approved Photographer
Once a photographer is approved, an email will be sent out informing them.
The photographer's kit (containing the wpsurf flag and photographer's bib) will be posted to the address supplied during their registration.
On their next login, the photographer will see new photographer options activated for their account.
