About Us

Wpsurf.com, (World Photos Surf), is a family run business, developed by surfers for surfers. The Morgan family is an Irish/Australian family with their home break at Bundoran in County Donegal, on Ireland’s West coast.

They have developed wpsurf.com to include something for everyone in the International Surfing Community.

Partners in the business, Nicole and Mike Morgan have both been National Surfing Champions and Nicole is the present British Professional Surfing Association Champion (2005-2006). Like many surfers they have traveled and surfed around the world. However a lack of photographic skill and equipment combined with their enthusiasm for being in the water has left many highlights recorded only in their memories.

While surfing ‘Snapper’ in Australia during 2005, the Morgans noticed how photographers seemed to focus exclusively on a couple of professional surfers all day. So many great surfers went unrecorded. Similarly, they noticed the growing number of beginners standing up or pulling off a cut-back for the first time. Until now, there has been no commercially viable way for any of this to attract the right quality of lens.

This gave rise to the concept of linking surfers and photographers in a new and exciting way through wpsurf.com. The arrival of digital cameras, broadband technology and the internet provides the platform to make it possible.

Opening a new and exciting market for the growing number of surf photographers, wpsurf.com provides the link between surfer and photographer anywhere in the world. It will allow surfers and their families to collect those moments for the future, wherever they surf, recording their surfing career in pictures – hopefully from the struggle at the beginning - right to when they hang up the board and want to have something to look back on.Those classic lineups with friends who scatter and move on; those special places that you visit when you are young and free, surfing amongst strangers: these might all now be recorded by a skillful photographer and available to you at wpsurf.com.

Photographers can travel and earn new incomes from their equipment as they bring the benefits of their skill to their fellow surfers.

An added bonus for the whole surfing world will be the development of a complete surfing archive going forward into the future. Surfers of all types and abilities, in all locations worldwide will enter their photo into the wpsurf archive when they purchase and describe it. They know where they were, what they were riding, what they did and more. In time anyone will be able to find a record of an individual surfer, a location, a manoevre; search for all girl surfers on short boards riding in the tube in Hossegor, Agadir or Huntington Beach between 2006 and 2007! What a treasure such an archive would be to all surfers worldwide.

Other sites now under development include snow sports, skate boarding, biking and more. The World Photos or WP family will quickly grow to include WPski, WPskate, WPbike and others, providing photographers with the facility to seasonally move between locations around the world, recording participants in a range of action sports and making those shots available simply by WHERE and WHEN.
